Did you know you were born psychic?
I bet some of you are nodding your head in full acceptance of that statement. I also bet some of you just laughed at me. That’s all right too. I get it. Not all of us remember the time when we were connected but every single one of us was psychic at birth.
The easiest way to explain is like this…
We exist in the spirit world before we are born. Part of us stays there even when we are alive. Like a stalk of a flower. It remains there as a solid base of who the individual is. It feeds and nourishes the spiritual side of us from there. Without it the person could not exist.
Then each life we live branches off from that stalk like a leaf. A separate entity in and of itself but also a part of a bigger whole. It feeds the stalk with experiences the soul could not get in its own world. And it feeds and teaches each of the other leaves/lives as well.
All coming together to create the flower at the top which is the cumulative collection of all the knowledge and experiences gathered in both spirit and physical forms. Always changing as each new experience adds to that collection and helps the flower grow.
Well. Imagine part of the stalk of that flower reaching out and becoming one with a human body. Not all of it. Just part of it. That’s the part of us we consider the soul. The part of us that feels otherworldly.
Of course, it does. Because it is!
When we are born, we remain connected to that main portion of our soul that stayed in the spirit world. It feeds us hope, joy, love and helps us keep in mind who we are and why we came into this life. It is connected to the universal knowledge bank and so it is all knowing. So basically, we are all born into this world knowing everything. That little newborn bundle of joy is actually far wiser than those who have been here for years. It’s a strange thought, isn’t it?
This is why so many children can see spirits. So many of them talk of past lives and spirit things they couldn’t possibly know about. Many of them do know about it. For they are still connected. They haven’t yet forgotten who they are and why they are here.
So what happens that changes us?
The living communities we are born into, both family and societal, teach us what we need to know in order to survive in this harsh world. How to stay safe, how we should behave and how to be a meaningful member of society while doing so. The more we integrate the beliefs of the living world, the more we let go of what we knew of the spirit one. For the two are vastly different and don’t always coexist peacefully together in our ever so logical brains.
Over time we tune out the spirit world. We tell ourselves the things we see and experience aren’t real and we let go of the knowledge we came here with in order to learn a new way of being. Then we live that way until we die. When it all comes flooding back like the most amazing home coming you can even dream of experiencing. But we’ll talk about that part of the adventure later.
For most people this gradual disconnect from the spirit world starts when you are a toddler and is completed by the age of seven. Its never fully gone though. Which is why even those who claim they don’t have a psychic bone in their body still have spiritual and psychic experiences throughout life. They still have a soul and that soul is talking to them. Whether or not they realize what it is.
When and how and why you disconnect from spirit will vary with each individual. It can happen faster or slower than others depending on the culture you are born into, the spiritual belief systems you grow up with and what experiences you have leading up to. So many pieces of our world factor into this.
Some people, like serial killers, will disconnect from the spirit world at an extremely early age due to life events that trigger survival mode very early on.
Some people, like I did, grow up focused more on their relationship with the spirit world and less on fitting into society. So that connection to spirit was given the chance to thrive instead of disconnect.
Some people learn to tune back into that connection when they
are older and some go their entire lives without doing so.
Needless to say, our connections with the spirit world are just as varied and unique as each one of us is.
So I ask you again. Did you know you were born psychic?
Because it turns out absolutely were!
Isn’t that a neat thing to know?
