Oh the Tarot!
My first experience with Tarot cards was underwhelming to say the least. I went to a girl’s night with some high school friends and one of the other girls was trying her hand at her new hobby. I had been raised Christian and really didn’t have any idea what to expect. She sat me down, had me shuffle the deck, pulled some cards…and got really confused. Then she promptly informed me that the cards were unsure of my future at that time.
Apparently, I had broken them somehow.
Once I began to work with the Tarot myself, I quickly learned that my odd first reading was nothing more than an inexperienced reader. One who was too much in her head and not connected enough with her intuition.
In her defense those cards were probably intense and confusing to someone who didn’t know what I was going through at the time. She had no idea that I was a psychic medium and at that point in my life I was beginning to really explore my abilities and figure out how they fit into my world. But then again, as a Tarot reader it was her job to allow spirit to help her fill in the blanks.
Ultimately, to my relief, I did not break the cards. I broke the reader.
Whoops.
Many years later I sit here as a Tarot reader myself.
I adore the cards and the way that spirit uses them to speak to us.
They have never let me down.
I love to talk about Tarot and share with them with anyone who has interest in them. I love teaching about them and helping others realize they are not as scary as they appear. Dispelling fears like the fact that your future cannot be changed or that the cards are being controlled by spirits who don’t have your best interest at heart.
So I decided to dedicate every Tuesday to Tarot. Tarot Tuesdays.
Starting with the history of the cards and moving through every possible topic we could want to cover on them.
I look forward to sharing this adventure with you and together learning new things about the Tarot along the way!
